Definition | An insulating material is a building material which is preferably used for thermal and / or sound insulation. Thermal insulation materials are materials with low thermal conductivity and reduce heat or cold losses. Sound insulation materials have low dynamic stiffness and are used to reduce air or impact sound. Heat and sound insulation materials are used in various areas of the construction industry and in plant engineering (engine technology, cooling appliances) |
