Search the ECLASS content

ECLASS offers you the opportunity to have a look at and search the latest ECLASS Releases free of charge. The search function is intuitive and allows you to get to know the standard in a quick and non-bureaucratic manner.

How to use the ECLASS search

Please first select ...

  • whether you want to search ECLASS Basic or Advanced
  • in which Release version you want to search
  • in which language you want to search
  • whether you want to search in the classes or for properties, values etc.

Then enter a search term (e.g. "pencil") and click on "Search".

Definition incontinence is derived from the Latin word continentia (= A or retention). Incontinence means hereafter non-(a-, re-) hold (can). A distinction is made in urinary incontinence and fecal incontinence. In contrast, continence means voluntarily controllable compliance or emptying of urine and / or stool. Enuresis is the term for nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting), which can occur in both children and adults. Encopresis (fecal incontinence) occurs almost only in children and usually only during the day, while adults of which are rarely affected (in the context of tumors, diarrhea or dying).
