Definition | Concrete is a building material, produced as a mixture of a binder and a soil aggregate. As a rule, the cement is used for the artificially produced stone. The aggregate impact (formerly surcharge) is usually composed of gravel and sand. Addition water (early mixing water) leads to the binder reacting chemically, thereby curing and forming a solid, dispersed building material mixture. Most of the water is chemically bound in this process. Fresh concrete does not dry during hardening, but requires water to set to develop its strength. Concrete can also contain concrete additives and concrete additives which specifically influence the properties of the building material |
