To master digitalization of industry the comprehensive availability of information is a key requirement. This is why concepts like the asset administration shell (AAS) and digital twins (DT) have been created.
Within this Whitepaper an approach is introduced to realize a decentralized registry for services offered around I4.0 components. How this decentralized registry is applied in practice is explained using five practice-relevant use cases which span the whole lifecycle of the asset.

WHITE PAPER OF PLATTFORM INDUSTRIE 4.0 AND ECLASS „MODELLING THE SEMANTICS OF DATA OF AN ASSET ADMINISTRATION SHELL WITH ELEMENTS OF ECLASS”
Plattform Industrie 4.0 recommends ECLASS as the preferred dictionary of standardized semantic to create meaningful Asset Administration Shells or Digital Twins. The AAS has standardized the structure and ECLASS has standardized the semantics for information elements, which should be used for the definition of digital twins. The structure of the AAS and the ECLASS dictionary complement each other in a perfect manner to achieve this objective.
The objective of this whitepaper is to work out which structures of ECLASS can be used to define the semantics of structures of the AAS. This whitepaper therefore explores element by element how each element of the AAS can be semantically described within the means of the ECLASS Conceptual Data Model.

ZVEI-BROCHURE „DRIVE 4.0 - VISION BECOMES REALITY”
Through an ad hoc working group at the German Electrical and Electric Manufacturers’ Association (ZVEI), various drive technology manufacturers, representatives from the mechanical engineering branch, and classification and standardization experts have joined forces with academic research to advance the realization of drive 4.0.
An informational brochure published by the ZVEI outlines the group's initial findings and explains the use of electric drive technology as industry 4.0 components.
