Siemens Energy creates a “Single Source of Truth” with Paradine and ECLASS

Data is the foundation of modern industrial companies. In practice, however, inconsistent material master data across system boundaries often hinders efficiency. Siemens Energy’s Steam Turbines and Generators division is setting new standards in this area: Using Paradine’s eptos™ Master Data Management System and classification based on the ECLASS standard, the company has created a central, cross-system data source.

In many organizations, material master data is scattered across different ERP, PLM, and legacy systems. As a result, teams waste valuable time searching for, correcting, and reconciling information. This hinders processes, leads to unclear decisions, and reduces value creation.

Siemens Energy’s Steam Turbines and Generators business unit is addressing this challenge with a clear solution: the eptos™ Master Data Management System (eptos™ MDM) from Paradine. eptos™ MDM establishes a central, unified data source for material master data — a true Single Source of Truth. Rather than having multiple versions of the same data, all systems, teams, and processes now operate on the same reliable foundation.

Cross-system interconnectivity instead of data silos.

Siemens Energy’s Steam Turbines and Generators business unit is breaking down these silos. Implementing eptos™ (Paradine) creates a single source of truth for material master data and enables seamless integration with ERP, PLM, and other existing systems. From now on, data will flow throughout the entire company. What was once fragmented will be intelligently interconnected.

ECLASS as the Foundation for Structure and Transparency

An ECLASS-based classification system ensures consistent product and material descriptions. Attributes are harmonized, making information comparable and transparent across the entire company. The international standard establishes a common language, making cross-system consistency possible.

The impact is immediately noticeable.

  • Data is consistent.
  • Processes are faster.
  • Decisions are more informed.

By combining robust master data management with the global ECLASS standard, Paradine creates a future-proof foundation that optimally supports Siemens Energy's scalability, efficiency, and digital growth.

Stay tuned for an upcoming in-depth article, in which we’ll examine the specific results and best practices of this successful implementation.
