At the VDMA Conference, ECLASS will demonstrate how standards are advancing the Digital Product Passport

The Digital Product Passport requires a common semantic foundation so that product information can be clearly understood across companies, systems, and national borders. At the VDMA conference on the Digital Product Passport on November 17, 2026, in Frankfurt am Main, ECLASS will demonstrate how established data standards support interoperable and scalable solutions.

The Digital Product Passport (DPP) is intended to make relevant product information available in a structured, digital format throughout the entire product lifecycle. For this concept to work in practice, companies, systems, and national markets must be able to interpret product information consistently. A common semantic foundation is crucial for this.

ECLASS makes an important contribution in this regard. As an established data standard, ECLASS provides structured and machine-readable product information. In this way, ECLASS supports the development of interoperable solutions for the Digital Product Passport and creates a robust foundation for scalable data exchange.

At the VDMA conference on the Digital Product Passport on November 17, 2026, in Frankfurt am Main, Thorsten Kroke, General Manager of the Head Office at ECLASS e.V., will explain how ECLASS can support the semantic requirements of the Digital Product Passport. The presentation will focus, among other things, on the following questions:

  • How does ECLASS create a common understanding of product data?
  • How can companies use existing standards to prepare for the Digital Product Passport?
  • Which approaches can be adapted to industry-specific requirements and specific use cases?
  • Why is semantic interoperability a prerequisite for reliable data exchange?

The transition to the Digital Product Passport is already in full swing. Companies that rely on established standards can begin preparing today and lay a solid foundation for future regulatory and market requirements.

Attend the VDMA conference and discuss with experts from industry and technology how standards such as ECLASS can help transform the Digital Product Passport into a practical and interoperable solution.
