BCON² - Standards made easy: From ECLASS modeling to DPP infrastructure

BCON² stands for Business, Content, Consulting - and with BEATS offers a scalable, web-based platform that not only makes standards such as ECLASS, BMEcat and AAS accessible, but also user-friendly. The subsidiary of ECLASS e.V. is thus making a decisive contribution to digital transformation along the entire product data chain.

BCON² GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of ECLASS e.V., was founded in 2021 with the aim of supporting companies - especially SMEs - in the simple and standards-compliant use of digital product data. With its BEATS platform, BCON² offers an end-to-end solution chain from ECLASS modeling to BMEcat and AAS to the Digital Product Passport (DPP) infrastructure.

Solutions along the digital product data chain

BCON² addresses key challenges in the introduction and application of standards:

  • ECLASS modeling: the integrated ECLASS modeler can be used to generate missing content for individual AAS templates - ideal for companies that want to develop their own submodels.
  • BMEcat & AAS: The platform enables the simple creation of standardized data containers. An integrated BMEcat generator allows product descriptions to be created with just a few clicks, while the AAS generator creates administration shells online.
  • DPP templates: BCON² offers predefined DPP templates that can be downloaded directly and integrated into existing systems. The templates are based on ECLASS semantics and can be used license-free as long as they are not used.

Validation and Expert Group work

The components of BCON² - in particular the AAS submodel templates and DPP templates - are actively used in Expert Groups to validate new content. The platform not only supports the technical implementation, but also the quality assurance of content through standardized structures and semantic consistency.

Future-oriented infrastructure

With a view to 2025, BCON² is pursuing a clear roadmap: Expansion of DPP systems, integration of AI-supported text generation, decentralized architectures and closer integration with REST APIs and ETL processes. The aim is to efficiently convert proprietary data into standardized AAS formats - in the spirit of an interoperable digital ecosystem.
