The long-standing cooperation between the PROFIBUS Nutzerorganisation e.V. (PNO) and ECLASS e.V. is entering the next round: An additional agreement has laid the foundation for the “Profinet Productfinder” - an innovative application that enables manufacturers to upload their own BMEcat files with ECLASS content. The prerequisite for this is a valid ECLASS license, especially when products are classified with ECLASS for the first time and corresponding BMEcat files are provided in the Productfinder.
The Productfinder is currently in an exciting prototype phase: 50 selected manufacturers are testing the platform with a time-limited, free ECLASS license (Release 14.0). The aim is to gain practical experience in using ECLASS, BMEcat and the new tool - and thus create the basis for a broader introduction.
