BME eLösungstage: Joint performance with PARADINE draws a lot of interest

ECLASS e.V.'s participation in the BME-eLÖSUNGSTAGE 2026 in Düsseldorf was a resounding success. The event centered on ECLASS's role in modernizing ERP systems and managing data efficiently for the Digital Product Passport.

From May 19 to 20, 2026, ECLASS e.V. successfully showcased its work at the BME eLÖSUNGSTAGE in Düsseldorf. At the joint booth with IT service provider PARADINE, Reinhard Pohn (PARADINE) and Jerome Blum and André Lindner (ECLASS Office) engaged in in-depth discussions with numerous interested visitors, particularly from procurement departments of industrial companies.

ECLASS as a Driving Force in ERP Modernization and Data Management

A central topic of the discussions was the modernization of ERP systems, with the transition from SAP R/3 to SAP S/4HANA being mentioned particularly frequently. These transformation phases provide an ideal opportunity to reevaluate and expand the strategic use of ECLASS. ECLASS plays a pivotal role in this process by providing a uniform foundation for product group structures, improving data quality, and increasing efficiency in procurement processes. The key takeaway: When adapting data structures and systems, consider integrating standardized product data from the beginning.

Companies are increasingly seeking practical solutions to leverage their suppliers’ product and service data. ECLASS allows for more structured data collection and comparison, as well as automated processing of this data. These improvements lead to greater transparency in procurement and promote comprehensive digitization and automation throughout the entire process chain.

Focus on the Digital Product Passport

One of the highlights of the trade show was the workshop held on the second day, titled "Efficient Data Management for the Digital Product Passport (DPP) with ECLASS and AI." The Digital Product Passport was one of the event's top topics, so interest in ECLASS's concrete support was high. André Lindner and Reinhard Pohn demonstrated how ECLASS, an established standard, enables the structured, interoperable, and future-proof provision of product data. Combined with artificial intelligence, ECLASS opens up new possibilities for efficiently classifying and consolidating large data sets for applications such as the DPP, ERP systems, and other digital processes.

The positive response to the trade show booth and workshop underscored the growing importance of standardized data structures. This applies not only to procurement, but also to areas such as sustainability, regulatory requirements, supplier data management, and digital product information.

BME-eLÖSUNGSTAGE 2026 was a resounding success for ECLASS. The joint presentation with PARADINE highlighted the synergies between standardization and practical implementation. In Düsseldorf, ECLASS positioned itself as a key partner for companies seeking to streamline and digitize their procurement and product data processes.

Data is the foundation of modern industrial companies. In practice, however, inconsistent material master data across system boundaries often hinders efficiency. Siemens Energy’s Steam Turbines and Generators division is setting new standards in this area: Using Paradine’s eptos™ Master Data Management System and classification based on the ECLASS standard, the company has created a central, cross-system data source.
