Major, Minor, Major, Minor... that was in the past. The ECLASS association is switching to pure Major Releases from now on!

Up until now, a Major Release was usually followed by a Minor Release. In order to accelerate the enhancements of the ECLASS Standard and to be able to meet the dynamic requirements of our users even faster, the ECLASS Board has decided to publish only Major Releases from now on. The ECLASS Release 12.0 announced for October 2021 will then be followed by a new Major Release every year.

The difference between Major and Minor Releases is mainly the possibility to also consider and publish necessary structural changes within the ECLASS Standard.

Users can already recognize the difference by the naming: 11.0 = Major, 11.1 = Minor, 12.0 = Major.
