ECLASS offers you the opportunity to have a look at and search the latest ECLASS Releases free of charge. The search function is intuitive and allows you to get to know the standard in a quick and non-bureaucratic manner.
How to use the ECLASS search
Please first select ...
- whether you want to search ECLASS Basic or Advanced
- in which Release version you want to search
- in which language you want to search
- whether you want to search in the classes or for properties, values etc.
Then enter a search term (e.g. "pencil") and click on "Search".

| Definition | Sand-lime brick (SL) is an artificially produced brick of sand and calcium silicate hydrate produced by steam hardening. For the covering of wall openings in load-bearing and non-load-bearing interior walls, in rear wall shells of two-shell masonry, as well as in the visible masonry, prefabricated KS flat falls are used. These are lintels made of reinforced and concreted KS-shaped blocks. The permissible line loads are determined by the width of the lintel, the length of the bearing, the type and height of the foundation and the reinforcement inserted. If the lintels are covered with masonry, the joints must be mortar so that a pressure vault can form. Flat lintels are used for visible walls and plastered masonry and laid with the shell downwards.
