Definition | Clinkers are bricks that have been fired at such high temperatures that the pores of the kiln are closed by the commencing sintering process. Clinkers hardly absorb water and are very resistant. Previously, clinker were also called hard brick. A block brick is, in contrast to the planing layer, a conventionally produced brick, which is not planked after the burning process and therefore has higher dimensional tolerances. Because of the possible unevenness, block tiles are not processed together with thin-bed mortar, but placed in the classic joint gap, ie into a mortar bed of 12 millimeters thickness. Two-shell exterior walls are built from pre-existing bricks, insulation area and back wall. The different areas allow an optimal possibility to compensate weather influences and to take into account design requirements |
