How to use the ECLASS search
Please first select ...
- whether you want to search ECLASS Basic or Advanced
- in which Release version you want to search
- in which language you want to search
- whether you want to search in the classes or for properties, values etc.
Then enter a search term (e.g. "pencil") and click on "Search".

| Definition | Cyanoacrylate adhesives are generally better known as 'instant adhesive' or 'super glue'. These are about thin or intentionally thickened esters of cyanoacrylic acids, which are available in 1K-form as monomers and react to the actual adhesive polymer in the joint gap by polymerization reaction. Precondition for the start of polymerization, which leads to a hardening, is the presence of polar groups or particles, such as the OH-ions in the moisture layer on the adherend surface. It is an anionic polymerization, ie, nucleophiles, such as organic nitrogen compounds, sulfur compounds, or alcohols and water, affect the double bond at carbon atom polarized by the two strong electron-withdrawing substituents.
