ECLASS 27-26 Electronic components: revitalize Expert Group

On 17.10.2023 a kick off meeting for the revitalization of the expert group 27-26 took place with experts from Infineon, JEDEC, JEITA, nexperia, nxp, Paradine, Phoenix Contact, Schneider Electric, Semaku and Siemens.

Thorsten Kroke reports a successful content update in 27-26 for ECLASS Release 13 by JEITA representatives from Japan (Haruhiro Saito) with help of Josef Schmelter (Phoenix Contact) and Philippe Juhel (Schneider Electric).

Status Quo

The situation is as follows: Already there is a known overlap of content between JEITA and ECLASS EG 27-26 through the harmonization project ECALS – ECLASS. Presumably there also is an overlap between any other player (EG 27-26, NXP / Infineon, JEITA, JEDEC). Goal of the expert group 27-26 is to maximize the overlap between ECLASS and all.

Next steps

1. An example of a semiconductor or similar will be worked out.
2. ECLASS is looking forward to participation of the existing circle as well as further experts from the network.
3. In a follow-up meeting, concrete starting points for content creation can be defined.
4. The meeting date and time should be suitable for participants from Japan, USA, Europe.
5. JEDEC and ECLASS will have bilateral talks about the common MoU.

Interested companies are welcome to join the expert group, please contact us at the Head Office.
Thorsten Kroke will keep you informed.
