Various providers define product categories and feature descriptions independently, using their own internal terminology. As a result, we were unable to implement universal filters, making product comparisons difficult. As our network grew and our product range expanded, it became clear that we urgently needed a standardized classification system—one with global reach. We quickly realized that ECLASS met all our requirements.
SYMBIOCOMMERCE has supported the ECLASS data standard since early 2025. By implementing this cross-industry classification system, we are able to establish a uniform structure and naming convention for product data. This offers several decisive advantages:
