Product information is required throughout a product’s entire life cycle: from the raw materials and materials used, through manufacturing and packaging, to use, repair, recycling and disposal. At the same time, regulatory requirements regarding the availability and exchangeability of this information are increasing – not least due to the Digital Product Passport. The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and the transition towards a circular economy also require reliable information on materials, recyclability, origin and disposal.
But how can this wide range of information be structured, standardized and made usable across company boundaries?
Using practical examples, the webinar demonstrates how ECLASS can serve as the semantic foundation for consistent life cycle management. The focus is on the Digital Product Passport and the Life Cycle Submodel of the Asset Administration Shell (AAS). It illustrates how product data from different stages of the life cycle can be brought together, described unambiguously and reused for different use cases.
The presentation covers the entire journey from raw materials through the product and its packaging to end-of-life, demonstrating how information that is often distributed across different systems and sources today can be transformed into a consistent digital product data model.
