Roles

The system shall support role based access and processes according to procedure described in specific documents.

Administrative Roles

  • Administrator

  • Office

Workflow-Related Roles

Workflow Major Minor:

  • Office

  • Expert Group Chair

  • Expert Group

  • Quality Chair

  • Data Administrator
     

Workflow Service Pack:

  • Office

  • Quality Chair

  • Data Administrator
     

Workflow Release:

  • Office Chair

Note: Additional role Approver also possible in different customer-specific workflows.

Product Roles

The creation of “Managers” (e.g. Unit Manager, Item Manager, Documents Manager, …) as separate products resulted in the creation of specific roles for each product.

The minimum set of roles consists of:

  • Viewer

  • Editor

  • Administrator

Role-Based Permissions

Administrative Roles

  • Administrator

  • Office: user and group administration

  • Data Administrator: log viewer functionality

Product Roles

  • Viewer – able to see / search/ list the content managed in the specific manager

  • Editor – able to modify the content managed by the manager

  • Administrator – able to control the processes of the manager


Roles TEMPLATE MANAGER VIEWERTEMPLATE MANAGER EDITOR and TEMPLATE MANAGER ADMINISTRATOR

These roles allow users access to module „Template Manager“:

Role „Template Manager Viewer“ allows users access to:

  • [Template Manager - Browse] – with following rights: search, view details, export

Role “Template Manager Editor” includes the rights of „Template Manager Viewer“ and has additionally access to:

  • [Manage Templates] – with following rights: create, edit, delete Templates
  • [Import Filter]

Role „Template Manager Administrator“ includes the rights of „Template Manager Editor“ and is additionally able to migrate Templates:

 

Roles UNIT VIEWERUNIT EDITORUNIT ADMINISTRATORUNIT MAPPING VIEWERUNIT MAPPING EDITOR and UNIT MAPPING ADMINISTRATOR

These roles grant users access to module „Unit Manager“.

Role „Unit Viewer“ allows users access to search/view Units, Quantities and Aspects of Conversion.

Role „Unit Editor“ includes the rights of „Unit Viewers“ and is additionally able to: create, edit, remove Units, edit Conversion Factors

Role „Unit Administrator“ includes the rights of „Unit Editor“ and is additionally able to:

  • Export Units: Unit Mappings (CSV), UnitsML 1.0, UnitsML 2.0
  • Import: Aspects of Conversion, Units, Unit Mappings, Quantities, Quantity-Unit relations

Role „Unit Mapping Viewer“, in combination with one of the roles Unit Viewer, Unit Editor and Unit Administrator, will be able to: view available mappings between Units.

Role „Unit Mapping Editor“ includes role Unit Mapping Viewer. In combination with one of the roles Unit Viewer, Unit Editor and Unit Administrator, a Unit Mapping Editor will be able to:

  • view available mappings between Units
  • create mappings between units
  • delete available mappings between units

Role „Unit Mapping Administrator“ includes roles Unit Mapping Viewer and Unit Mapping Editor. In combination with one of the roles Unit Viewer, Unit Editor and Unit Administrator, a Unit Mapping Administrator will be able to: export mappings between units.

 

Roles DICTIONARY MANAGER VIEWERDICTIONARY MANAGER EDITORDICTIONARY MANAGER ADMINISTRATOR and DICTIONARY MANAGER APPROVER

Role “Dictionary Manager Viewer” allows users assigned to it to: search, view and export dictionary elements.

Role “Dictionary Manager Editor” allows users assigned to it to: create, edit, remove dictionary elements (via change requests); edit, delete, submit change requests.

Role “Dictionary Manager Administrator” (in combination with role “Office”) allows users assigned to it to: import dictionary elements.

Role “Dictionary Manager Approver” (in combination with role “Office”) allows users assigned to it to: approve new dictionary elements and modifications / deletions.

 

Roles CLASSIFICATION MANAGER VIEWERCLASSIFICATION MANAGER EDITOR and CLASSIFICATION MANAGER ADMINISTRATOR

Role „Classification Manager Viewer“ allows users assigned to it to: search, view and export classification classes.

Role “Classification Manager Editor” allows users assigned to it to: create, edit, remove classification classes (via change requests); edit, delete, submit change requests.

Role “Classification Manager Administrator” (in combination with role “Office”) allows users assigned to it to: import classification classes.

 

Roles CLASSIFICATION MAPPING VIEWER and CLASSIFICATION MAPPING EDITOR

Role “Classification Mapping Viewer” grants users access to Manage Classification Mappings functionality. User having this role assigned may only view available mappings.

Role “Classification Mapping Editor” includes rights of Viewer role and is additionally able to: create, delete and migrate classification mappings.

 

Roles CLASSIFICATION RULES MANAGER VIEWER and CLASSIFICATION RULES MANAGER EDITOR Present roles guard module Classification Rules Manager and the related functionalities, including management of transformation rules.

 

Roles CLASSIFICATION FILTER VIEWER and CLASSIFICATION FILTER EDITOR

Role “Classification Filter Viewer” grants user access to Manage Filter module, allowing him to search for and view available filters.

Role “Classification Filter Editor” includes rights of role Classification Filter Viewer and is additionally allowed to: create, edit and delete classification filters.

 

Roles BASE MODULE VIEWER and BASE MODULE EDITOR

Role „Base Module Viewer“ grants users access to module Base Module, including following basic functionalities: logging and e-mail collector.

Role „Base Module Editor“ includes rights of Base Module Viewer and is additionally able to: manage users and groups, help pages, suppliers, dictionaries, releases, hierarchies and access control.

 

Role TASK VIEWER Role „Task Viewer“ (in combination with Base Module Viewer) allows users to view the progress of different processes started within the system (e.g. imports, exports).

 

Role BUSINESS RULE CHECKER Present role allows users assigned to it to check business rules.

Workflow-Related Roles

  • Office: submit foreign Change Requests, add/remove CRs to/from WPs, decide upon CRs in workflow Major-Minor, create Change Processed in workflow Service Pack

  • Data Administrator: edit, change status and export foreign change requests in particular status

  • Expert Group: create CPs in workflow Major/Minor

  • Expert Group Chair: checks if CR contained in WPs are in scope of the expert group and prepares WP for work within expert group, or rejects working on CRs of the WP, checks work of expert group and decides about technical correctness of CPs and resolution of CR´s of CP's contained in WP

  • Quality Chair: checks CPs of WP with regard to quality and resolution of CR's and decides about quality of CP, resolution of CR and next steps (Major/Minor and Service Pack)

  • Office Chair: selects the SE to be released into a WP which is input to be finalized as beta release

 

Roles HELP MANAGER VIEWER and HELP MANAGER ADMINISTRATOR

Role “Help Manager Viewer” allows users to view online help pages via help icon. This icon appears only in case content for that menu entry is available. Role “Help Manager Administrator” allows users to maintain the online help pages. Users having this role assigned will be able to create, edit and delete online help pages.

 

Role EPTOS VIEWER

Role “Eptos Viewer” manages certain default Roles to a group of users. When a new user is created and role Eptos Viewer is added, all Roles assigned to the Eptos Viewer are automatically available for the new user having Eptos Viewer assigned.

 

Role GÄSTE 

Present role is one of the default roles automatically assigned on viewing a portal without any login.

 

Role QG CHAIR

Role “QG Chair” plays an important part in workflow major minor. Users having this role assigned may take the ultimate decision in status Proposed for rework/reject and forward CPs contained in a WP for creation of a Release (i.e. finish workflow major minor).
